Thanks to the City of Sunnyvale, one third-grade class had a very special lesson on local government held at the brand-new city hall!
Ellis Elementary’s Ms. Young’s class took their government field trip in November. They were able to tour the brand-new city hall, sit in council chambers, meet and have a Question and Answer session with the Mayor, Larry Klein, visit the traffic control room, talk to a traffic engineer, and hear presentations from public works, the smart recycle station, city planner, and city clerk!
“The third graders loved learning about what goes on behind the scenes in our local government and it made the careers we studied about in our social studies unit come to life!” teacher Stephanie Young said.
Thank you for coming to Sunnyvale’s City Hall and learning about your local government. It looks like you had a great time!
