Leadership Announcement – Ellis Elementary

We are pleased to announce that Stephanie Fischer has accepted the position as the next Principal of Ellis Elementary School. Stephanie was selected after a comprehensive search and interview process that included a staff and community survey, a school community interview panel, a Superintendent Cabinet interview panel, and a discussion regarding the needs of the Ellis Community.

Currently the Assistant Principal at Ellis, Stephanie is an accomplished visionary educator with 17 years of experience in the field of education. She joined Sunnyvale School District in 2005 as a teacher at Bishop Elementary School. She has also served as a school site instructional coach at Bishop and Lakewood elementary schools. Stephanie graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Psychology, and received her Master’s Degree in Education from Santa Clara University.

Throughout the interview process, panelists were very impressed with Stephanie’s leadership vision, her belief in equity and addressing the needs of all students, and most of all, her passion and dedication to the students, families, and staff of the Ellis Community.

A special thanks to all those who participated in the Thoughtexchange input process and to those who served on the community interview panel.

We would also like to recognize Principal Eric Panosian for his 21 years of dedicated service in the District. Join us in wishing Mr. Panosian all the best in his retirement!

I hope the change is better, my children went to Ellis from t-k to 5th grade all those years I saw the biased of the principal and his staff, it was a group of teachers and the principal where only who they wanted will be, heard I hope those teachers are gone with the principal.
