Students receive hands on learning during Stanford Summer Explorations

Stanford University seal
This summer is another exciting year of our Stanford Summer Explorations program in the Sunnyvale School District.  Students in rising grades 1 through 8 who join the program are provided academic enrichment in a unique partnership with Stanford University.
Students will not only have one experienced and dynamic teacher, but they will have two to three Stanford student teachers from the Stanford Teacher Education Preparation program in their classrooms.  This allows for more individualized support that results in deeper learning and more focused student engagement.
Middle School Stanford Explorations students may also choose between Math, English-Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and Beginning Mandarin.  With the flexibility during the summer, and with additional teachers in the room, the program is able to offer innovative and exciting units that not only support students academically, but also work to instill confidence and a positive mindset for learning.
Our programs are currently filled, but invitations will be sent out again in the spring of 2016 for the summer of 2016.  Until then, look for updates on our district website.
