The ribbon-cutting ceremony held at Sunnyvale Middle School on August 6 was more than an unveiling of the new classroom wing. It was the start of another bright chapter in Sunnyvale School District’s storied history. The event celebrated the completion of the first phase of a multi-year project to modernize the Sunnyvale Middle School campus for safety and sustainability while providing our students with a space that is designed specifically for learning.
The two-story building’s features leverage the use of natural light, flexible furnishings, chairs that allow for natural movement, and acoustics that enhance clarity and muffle background noise. It’s the epitome of all we know about creating an environment that supports student learning.
Speakers at the event emphasized the district’s intention to provide the best and most equitable learning opportunities for every student and shared their immense gratitude to the Sunnyvale community at large, whose support of Measure GG made the project possible.
