Congratulations to Alex Ha of Lakewood for being recognized as this year’s Educator of the Year by the City of Sunnyvale at its annual State of the City event! This annual event recognizes exceptional members of our community and attracts more than 1,000 Sunnyvale residents. It includes the Mayor’s State of the City address, community awards presentation, live entertainment, children’s activities, and other fun, family-friendly activities. It was held on Sept. 15 in downtown Sunnyvale on Murphy Avenue.
The recognition continued a month later, where Alex, alongside the 30 other Teachers of the Year from throughout the county were celebrated at the 49th annual Teacher Recognition Celebration October 22!
The celebration was held at the Campbell Heritage Theatre where teachers were welcomed with a reception. Entertainment was provided by the Fremont Union High School Chamber Orchestra and the Westmont High School Musical Theatre. Masters of Ceremonies were Dr. Mary Ann Dewan, county superintendent of schools for the Santa Clara County Office of Education and Ron Gonzales, president and CEO of the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley.
The annual event remains one of California’s oldest and largest recognition of public school educators. Warmest and heartfelt congratulations to Alex Ha of Lakewood!
