Construction at Ellis Elementary School is nearly complete. We have installed new roofs (no more leaks and shingles that blow away in heavy winds!), energy-efficient double-paned windows, and upgraded HVAC. We have created a more efficient drop-off/pick-up and now have a brand-new library and kitchen. We have installed new solar power on the Multi-Purpose Room, making it net zero energy. Students will also return to beautiful new playgrounds with shade structures, making the environment more joyous and comfortable. The fields are next in line to be redone and the portables will be removed by June 1!
We have also installed new roofs and new reliable heating and cooling systems at Vargas, Fairwood, and San Miguel.
Thank you again to the community for passing the recent Measure C Bond, which will allow us to continue working on our facility needs in alignment with our Facilities Master Plan.
