The Cumberland Student Council held its annual fundraiser earlier in the year. The student council representatives nominated and selected two charities. This year the students chose the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF). The students run the fundraiser, starting with distributing collection boxes into each classroom, office, and library. They then promote the fundraiser with announcements in each class, as well as to the whole

school at assemblies. They also notified parents through newsletters and through posters put up around the school.
This year, we collected nearly $1,000 and the proceeds were split evenly between both groups. We are happy to help those who are less fortunate or in need of help and support.
