Financial Support for Families

Families with children eligible for free or reduced-price meals can now receive additional support via the Pandemic Emergency Benefits Transfer Program (P-EBT). The California Department of Social Services has identified roughly 3.8 million children who could qualify, and each eligible child could receive up to a total of $365 in P-EBT benefits. P-EBT eligible children who use CalFresh, Medi-Cal, or Foster Care benefits do not need to apply for the new benefits and will receive a P-EBT card in the mail in May.

Families receiving free or reduced lunches but not enrolled in CalFresh can apply now by completing a short online application. You can apply here https://ca.p-ebt.org/. Families who weren’t receiving free and reduced-price meals who may now be eligible should fill out the application and send it to Brenda Gurrola at brenda.gurrola@sesd.org.
