The annual Community Awards recognize the dedication and hard work of community members across a variety of fields who have made a difference in Sunnyvale. Nominations are reviewed by a panel of former Community Awards winners. The Sunnyvale Mayor and City Councilmembers present the awards at the annual State of the City event.
This year the Sunnyvale School District has the distinguished honor of being named Sunnyvale’s Business of the Year! This category recognizes a Sunnyvale business or businessperson who made significant contributions to the Sunnyvale community through their leadership, community involvement, creative partnerships, or commitment to enhancing Sunnyvale’s reputation as a great place to live, work and do business. On top of this honor, we were nominated by Sunnyvale Community Services, one of the most incredible nonprofits in Sunnyvale. To SCS, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
SSD’s very own Julio Delgado will also be recognized as this year’s Educator of the Year! The Educator of the Year category recognizes teachers or school personnel who made a significant contribution to their school, students, and community through their work in education. This award is open to teachers and school personnel working for public, private, post-secondary, or trade schools located in or serving students who live in Sunnyvale.
