SSD Teacher of the Year celebrations continue!

Congratulations to Lindsay Choi of Columbia Middle School (CMS) for being recognized as this year’s Educator of the Year at recent city and county events!

Ms. Choi is a seventh-grade science teacher and eighth-grade AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) advisor at CMS. A teacher leader, Ms. Choi is a member of the Science Leadership Team and is responsible for facilitating the Multi-Tiered System of Support process for her colleagues in seventh grade.

On September 17th, the City of Sunnyvale recognized Ms. Choi at its annual State of the City event at the Heritage Park Museum. This annual event includes the Mayor’s State of the City address, community awards presentation, live entertainment, children’s activities, and other fun, family-friendly activities.

On October 24th, Santa Clara County celebrated Ms. Choi and 30 other Teachers of the Year from throughout the county at its 52nd annual Teacher Recognition Celebration! The celebration was held at the Campbell Heritage Theatre and was hosted by Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mary Ann Dewan and Nicole Taylor, President, and CEO of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
