In May 2024 the Sunnyvale School District Board of Education approved the District’s 2024-2030 Strategic Plan, capping off a six-month planning process that involved more than 400 participants, including family members and members of the broader community. Each quarter we will take a closer look at one element of our new strategic plan.
Our promise to the community is that every student is known by name, strength and need, ready to excel in high school and beyond, and to lead a life of joy and purpose.
What does it mean to know every student by name, strength, and need? It means we take the time to learn about each student as an individual. Not only do we know them by name, we recognize and value their strengths and talents and understand their needs.
By knowing who our students are, we can engage each of them in learning more deeply, providing individualized instruction and support to each student, helping them to achieve and thrive both in the classroom and out in the world.
