Sunnyvale School District Builds Asset-filled School Communities for Students

project-cornerstone_01

Sunnyvale School District is committed to helping children thrive not just academically, but also emotionally. We have partnered with Project Cornerstone to help give our children a foundation of “developmental assets” which are the positive values, relationships and experiences they need to thrive. Positive role models and connection to community are an integral part of the success of our children. YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT!

Consider taking a few minutes out of your day to make a child feel important. Here are 10 ways to show you care:
– Notice them.
– Smile a lot.
– Acknowledge them.
– Learn their names.
– Seek them out.
– Remember their birthdays.
– Ask them about themselves.
– Look in their eyes when you talk to them.
– Listen to them.
– Play with them.

In future District Digest issues, we will give you more ideas of how you can show a child you care…. and how with just a few minutes of your time, you may be impacting a life for the better. Thank you for caring about the children in our community!
