On April 30, 2015, selection committees comprised of certificated and classified management personnel met to select the 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year and the 2014-2015 Classified Employee of the Year. Each school site, along with the District Office and the Operations Department, was invited to nominate one classified employee and one teacher from their site and submit the name(s) for discussion. Each year the District also honors a member of the Management Team that will represent the team and the District throughout the 2015-2016 school year.
At the May 21, 2015 board meeting, the Board of Education announced the names of the employees that were selected by the committees. The Sunnyvale School District 2014-2015 Employees of the Year are:
Emelda Aguilar (San Miguel Elementary School), Classified Employee of the Year
Rebecca Hansen (Bishop Elementary School), Teacher of the Year
Annalee Wee (District Office), Management Team Member of the Year
On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, the selected employees and the nominees were recognized by the Board of Education and presented with awards and/or certificates. These selected employees will represent the Sunnyvale School District for the 2015-2016 school year. All of these employees embody the District’s motto, “Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow.” The Sunnyvale School District wishes to congratulate all of the selected employees and the nominees for their extraordinary contributions to our students, staff, and community!
