Michelle Maginot appointed as SSD's newest board memberOn May 11, the Sunnyvale School District Board of Education appointed its newest member, Michelle Maginot. Michelle Maginot is a longtime Sunnyvale resident and a proud product of the Sunnyvale School District. She has three children who attend or will be attending Ellis next year. She has been an active member of the school’s PTO board for the last two years and started an annual welcome back picnic at the school two years ago.Swearing in ceremony for newest board member

In 2010, she organized and continues to run a weekly music class for toddlers and parents free to the community. The following year she organized and continues to run a monthly mothers’ career development and support group. She has been active in her children’s sports leagues and is an active member of her church community. While she was in college, she did an internship for the U.S. Department of Education.

A vacancy on the Board was created by the resignation of Board Member Jeff Clarke, which became effective April 1, 2017. Michelle was sworn in at the May 18 board meeting. The appointment will run until December 2018.
